I bought my Ridgid MS-UV (AC9944) from Home Depot. It wasn't on sale, but my knees were hurting from working with my miter saw on the floor, so it seemed like the right time to buy. It is pretty heavy, almost 100 lbs so be ready to lift and make sure you have room for the box it comes in.
If you are looking to buy, it seems like Home Depot has them on sale in April. I just saw them for $99 the first week of April in 2008. They were also on sale for Black Friday 2008 for $99.
Assembly
The stand went together in 15-20 minutes. I thought all the steps were pretty obvious and easy to follow. You'll need a set of wrenches. The table and legs are assembled already. You have to put the wheels on, the handles on each end of the table, mount the rollers on the extensions and mount your saw on it.
I put a 12" Delta miter saw on it. It took about 5 minutes to find the bolts and mount the rails to the bottom of my saw. Once they are on the saw just clamps down on the table. The quick release locks on the front of the rails make it easy to slide the saw on the table or remove it.
The Real World
June 1st, 2007
Overall I'm very happy with the MS-UV. It works great as a miter saw stand, but I've also clamped my MDF window sills to it so I could router and sand them.
Pros:
My knees are happy.
The height is good.
The rollers support my work well.
The stand is sturdy.
Setup and take down is easy.
Folds up and stands on end to take up less space.
Cons:
The hard wheels won't roll over even small scraps of wood.
The rollers aren't quite square to the table.
The rollers work too well, sometimes a long piece of stock will want to roll right off.
The extension support legs are a pain to get out (they are easy to put back in).
Height adjustment of extension support legs doesn't work too well, but they do help with heavy loads.
The stand and saw combo is heavy.
Miter Saw Utility Vehicle (MS-UV) is a stupid name.
